Badfish co-founder Zack Hughes created the Re’Leash in 2011, as river SUP was just getting started. At the time, paddlers were fastening themselves to their board with traditional surf leashes in ways that weren’t always safe. By incorporating elements of kiteboarding, sailing and rock climbing, Hughes was able to create a fully functional leash with a high quality snap shackle that ensures reliable release, whether you’re river running, river surfing or paddling flat water. There are other releasable leashes on the market today, but the original Re’Leash remains the industry standard for quality and performance.
