We love paddling in Colorado near our headquarters, but when it starts to get cold, there’s nothing better than having a trip planned to warmer climates to enjoy the river. Several of us here at CKS have traveled the world experiencing different rivers. Some of us have even worked as guides internationally. One of our favorite places to paddle in the winter is Costa Rica.

This past year, a group of river and kayak guides with tons of experience took the opportunity to create their own tour company in Costa Rica. Over the past 10 years these guides have organized, managed and run nearly 1,000 adventure trips for travelers to Costa Rica. They did this all while competing on the Costa Rican Olympic Slalom kayak team, coaching and competing with the International Rafting team for Costa Rica and competing in Iron Man competitions.

We love Costa Rica and love supporting people that we know do an amazing job of helping people have a great experience on the river. Part of the CKS team recently joined Amazing Vacations on a special scouting trip to Costa Rica to help open up several new rivers to paddlers and we we want to share our experience with you.

Check out the video compilation from our trip here:

If you’re thinking of taking a trip to warmer climates this winter, we can assure you that that our friends in Costa Rica deliver an incredible experience for Class II-IV kayakers and anyone wanting to raft, paddle a ducky or SUP down a river.

If you are looking for warm water to paddle this winter, you should check out some of their week long kayak trip or custom vacations. And if you end up signing up for a trip through this link, you’ll get a special CKS discount on your trip.

Whether you are a kayaker, rafter or just looking for an adventure or relaxing vacation, we’re confident you’ll have an amazing experience with this team in Costa Rica.
