The Immersion Research Union Suit is a unique design in the paddle sports industry. Most Union suits feature either buttons or zippers to enter the suit.
This suit has an elastic neck for entry. This allows the paddler to move around without worry that the zipper will come undone or have any uncomfortable rubbing while paddling. Having full body coverage is important when wearing a dry suit. If you wear two pieces for your base layers it will usually leave skin exposed and their is no good way to adjust it while wearing the suit.

Double sided fleece wicks away moisture much faster than single sided fleece. The whole point of buying a high end dry suit is that it will be waterproof and breathable.
