CKS Announces a $5,000 Photo or Video Scholarship to New River Academy.

“And That Has Made All the Difference.” Colorado Kayak Supply announces a $5,000 Academic Scholarship to the producer of the best original photo essay illustrating, “Whitewater photography” and a second video scholarship illustrating, “Five reasons I love kayaking.”
Have you considered applying to New River Academy's high school for kayakers? Do you want to go to Chile and Ecuador and paddle amazing rivers after school and be trained by coaches like Stephen Wright? If yes, here is an opportunity to earn a $5,000 Academic Scholarship. There are two scholarship opportunities listed below. http://youtu.be/vqLm6kWGRIo You could learn to make videos like this in your video class and during after school kayak sessions.   • Submit a 3-6 photo essay that illustrating whitewater kayaking.
  • Winner must own a digital SLR camera for NRA photo-journalism class requirements.
  • Entry must be solely the work of the applicant.
  • Photo entries must be entered on the New River Academy fans page http://www.facebook.com/newriveracademy.
  • Entry must be received by July 30, 2011.
  • One scholarship/entrant.
AWARD
  • $5,000 Academic Scholarship to the author of the best original photo-composition to be solely applied to a full year student.

  • Only one 1 to 3-minute video composition per member per category will be accepted.
  • Entry must be solely the work of the applicant; plagiarized entries will not be accepted.
  • All entries become the property of CKS and Huge Experiences.
  • All entries must include a cover letter that lists: your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, current grade level, and your high school name and address.
  • Video Entries must be entered on the New River Academy Facebook fans page: http://www.facebook.com/newriveracademy
  • Video must include, “I want to apply to New River Academy because…”
  • Entry must be received by July 30, 2011.
Video Hints may include but are not limited to:
  • “Five Reasons I Love Kayaking.”
  • Sequence the theme: “Reason #5 I love to kayak…”
  • Illustrating kayak learning progressions
  • Action shots
