It rained cats and dogs in upstate NY a couple of weeks ago and the Black River skyrocketed up 9,000 cfs. Returning to Buffalo after paddling a low water Hole Brothers only a couple of days prior, I was reluctant to travel all the way back to Watertown, NY. But, the trip was well worth it. The wave is dynamic, super fun, eddy accessible, and has just enough line to let yourself catch your breath before heading back out.
