It's hot! Colorado summer hot and at about 6:00 pm every Tuesday getting wet and paddling sounds like the perfect way to beat the heat. But you don't own a kayak or SUP board. You are invited to Colorado Kayak Supply's free demo Tuesday. Below we'll address a few concerns from first timers:

"I've never paddled can I come?"

Yes, the ideal of demo Tuesdays is to introduce persons to paddling. We want to illustrate to everyone how easy and accessible paddling is to Colorado. "Will it be OK for my kids and dogs?"

-We love kids and dogs! Bring grandma too. It's a fun evening.

"What will I need to bring?"

-Bring clothes to get wet in as you'll be paddling in a small pond with a feeder creek with some current. You may or may not fall in the water.

"I've been thinking about trying a SUP board, is it easy?"

-Oh goodness me oh my is it easy? We've seen kids, mothers with dogs, and dads with daughters just paddling around the pond. The SUP designs are super stable and provide a super cool vantage to look down into the water. On a hot day it is a fun fun way to enjoy the heat.

"Can I try a kayak too?"

-Yes. CKS supplies kayaks, SUP boards, paddles, and PFDs.

"OK, OK... I'm sold how do we get to the BV pond?"

-Be there around 6:00 to 6:30 pm. Here are the directions.

Buena Vista Town Pond Directions

Every Tuesday CKS offers demo day at the BV Town Pond. It’s an ideal location for learning to roll a kayak, paddle a SUP board, or try out any number of crafts offered at the shop. There’s a class II creek current coming into one corner of the pond offering distinct eddy lines and use of current. It’s just blocks away from the CKS store front making it easy for paddlers to try out different demo kayaks and SUP boards. CKS to Buena Vista Town Pond

1. From CKS go .1 m to light turn RIGHT on 24 W.
2. Go one or two blocks and take the first or second gravel drive on the LEFT.
