Twenty-eight SUP boarders participated in the second annual Salida SUP event.
This past weekend Colorado Kayak Supply and Teva hosted two more SUP events with a downriver race and Salida “Office Wave” surf competitions.
C4 Waterman rep Morgan Mason captures the moment. This first time SUP boarder steps onto his board before the two-mile class I-II downriver race.

C4 Waterman rep Morgan Mason describes the events. “The structure is a two part event featuring downriver and surf competitions. This show cases a popular variety of boards. Badfish Designs are demoing their newly developed surfers. C4 has a lot of boards on the water too giving new paddlers lots of options. We’re starting to see a community building around SUP here in Colorado. Friends and families are learning it’s fun and easy to participate."

Event organizer and CKS partner Earl Richmond comments, “It’s an awesome blue bird Colorado day. We’re seeing age 8 to 65 trying the second annual Teva SUP downriver race. We’re just having fun getting people both first timers and vets out here having a good time. Our goal is to have fun doing the best that we can with 28 participants.”
