Long boats are a type of creek boat used almost exclusively for whitewater kayak races and kayaking expeditions. They are typically defined as being over 9.5 feet in total length and are easier to paddle more quickly, on average, than their shorter creeker counterparts. Due to their specialized design, long boats may not be suitable for all types of whitewater kayaking--but they sure are fast.
